FILMMAKER & VIDEO PRODUCER
Giacomo (Jeff) Pizzo : I'm Bay Area born and based in San Francisco. I've been making things my whole life, as a kid I was recreating scenes from my favorite films on a Hi-8 camcorder.
I studied fine arts and earned my masters in digital media, where I made video installations and short films that pushed me to think about the relationship between image, emotion and space.
After that I spent years in UX design, collaborating with marketing teams, executing strategy, and learning how to deeply listen to what people actually need. It made me a better problem solver and a better collaborator. But eventually filmmaking pulled me back, and I realized everything I learned along the way made me a more complete filmmaker.
These days I make documentary films and branded content that lives somewhere between art and storytelling. My approach is intuitive. I draw visual inspiration directly from my subjects, their quirks, their energy, their contradictions. If something doesn't move me it won't move anyone else, so I follow that feeling wherever it leads. I'm obsessed with the details most people miss.
I love the collaborative nature of this work. I'm comfortable managing every aspect of production from shooting to editing, and I'm used to working with small budgets. When throwing money at a problem isn't an option I find creative ways through it. That constraint often makes the work better.
